American Airlines makes effort to woo passengers

I American recently completed extensive renovations to its largest Admirals Club lounge at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, adding space and seating as well as providing a variety of amenities for business travelers.

Raj Sidhu, sales officer with American Airlines, said the lounge would include 39 work stations and four PCs with high speed Internet access in the Business Center; a walk-up cyber café with four PCs and complimentary high-speed wifi access for Admirals Club members and a one-day pass n a bid to boost sagging business worldwide, American Airlines has unveiled a series of inno to access the Admirals Club facilities.

A children's room featuring age-appropriate TV programming and computer games, flat-panel TVs and a café seating and food service area next to the modernized bar were among the other attractions.

Spa-like shower facilities, including eight private showers complete with towels, shampoo, body-gels and other amenities, are also available Sidhu and Mary Frances Fagan, director of corporate communications with American, led a press tour of the facilities as well as American's Boeing 777 aircraft, considered one of the most comfortable in the Industry.

Sidhu said American operates 44 Boeings, each featuring 16 First Class, 37 Business Class and 194 Economy seats.

The First Class Flagship Suite offers a fully flat 6feet-6inches bed, dividers for privacy, power ports, individual satellite phones, audio and video entertainment on demand, and swivel seats - an industry first that allows face-to-face meetings or dining.

Business Class features 37 adjustable seats, spacious sleeping areas with seat bottom, seat back and leg rest extension. Economy Class has 194 seats, video facilities at every seat and computer ports located throughout the cabin.

American Airlines, American Eagle and the American Connections airlines serve 250 cities in 40 countries with an average of 3,400 daily flights.

American is a founding member of the Oneworld Alliance, which brings together some of the best and biggest names in the airline business, enabling them to offer their customers more services and benefits.
