Student from Hyderabad is killed in car crash in Ohio

Naresh Dacha, 22, a firstyear student at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, died in a car accident Sept. 1 at 5:30 a.m. on Route 22 in Dayton.

He died on the spot when he swerved to avoid hitting a tree while trying not to hit a cat running across the highway, according to the Telugu Association of North America (TANA), which is helping the family with the arrangements for the funeral.

Varun, a friend of Naresh's who was in the front passenger seat, escaped with minor injuries.

Dacha, a native of Hyderabad, completed his B.
Tech from Arora Engineering College in Bhuvanagiri in the Nalgonda District of Andhra Pradesh in 2008. He joined Wright State in January this year. He is survived by his brother and parents, who live in Hyderabad.

"Our TANA Team Square members are working on logistics to send the body to Hyderabad at the earliest," said Prasad Thotakura, presidentelect of TANA.

"It is very sad to see a young, bright student losing his life in a freak horrific accident," TANA President Jayaram Komati said.
