Opinion Article is an Insult to Hinduism

The opinion article by Mathew N. Schmalz (News India Times, Feb. 4) was as disgusting as the fact that you decided to publish it. Your publishing it is probably understandable since you have mostly Christians at the helm  at your publication.
I will only ask you some simple questions: Why would any Hindu convert to a so-called religion that has a God that punishes you if you do not believe in Him? Reminds me of the thugs who live down the road with whom you have to be in agreement with all the time – and  if not, they would punish you.  Is Jesus a thug?
Your funny concept that there is only one life to achieve salvation is again the most ridiculous idea ever. So your God is so mean that once you refuse to accept Him, he will send you eternally to hell? Eternally? Burn in hell? Where is His so-called kindness and mercy?
Such shameless ideas are being promoted by your evangelists in India by bribery, offer of occupation, clothes and some food. What kind of a religion is it that has to be propagated by bribery? There has to be something wrong for bribery to be used as an incentive.
What a sham article by Schmalz. He is trying to fool Hindus into believing that he is fair and balanced. He wrote one sentence to speak from the Hindu perspective and went on to write a whole paragraph to prove that wrong. His use of words also lays him bare.
I am disgusted and am telling you as it is.
Your so-called religion and that God who is hanged by nails on a cross can be referred to as a criminal who is suffering the results of his deed, but as a Hindu I feel bad saying that.
India is secular because the majority are Hindus, in spite of your Christianity and the Islamic faith.
I could take on Schmalz’s article piece by piece and prove him wrong, but it may be wasted time for those who believe only their god is God and others are pagans and kufrs.
Shame on you.
