Sixty-nine students of South Asian origin are among the 300 semifinalists in the 2013 Intel Science Talent Search. The finalists are to be announced on Jan. 23. The highest number, 22, of South Asians are from New York state California comes in next with 13 while Massachusetts has five. There is only one South Asian student from New Jersey.

The computer science professor at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Mass., shows in a study that most online video viewers are impatient and will abandon viewing a video stream if it is not instantly available or smooth.
