Church hut collapse kills 23 in Nepal
At least 23 people, including women and children, were killed in their sleep in Nepal when a three-storey bamboo hut used for a church function collapsed, police said on Wednesday.
The accident injured 62 people, Rajendra Man Shrestha, a police superintendent, said from Dharan, 200 km (125 miles) east of the Nepali capital of Kathmandu. "The cause of the accident is under investigation. All the injured people have been taken to a local hospital," Shrestha said.
Christians account for less than one percent of majority Hindu Nepal's 27 million people.
