Gates' India visit expected to boost defense ties
United States Defense Secretary Robert Gates, whose term at the Pentagon was recently extended by at least a year, is to visit India later this month in a bid to boost defense cooperation.
Dates for what is likely to be a two-day visit have not been firmed up yet.
During his visit, Gates is expected to hold talks with his Indian counterpart A.K. Antony and meet top officials of India's armed forces, the Press Trust of India reported.
