Kundra reinstated, White House nixes old infraction
The FBI has made clear Kundra is not under investigation. But the White House and Kundra decided he should go on leave to preclude any appearance of impropriety.
A week after he took office as Obama's CTO, Kundra suddenly went on leave March 12, when the FBI raided his old office and arrested two people. Yusuf Acar, 40, acting chief security officer in Kundra's previous CTO office in D.C., and Sushil Bansal, a former employee and now President of Advanced Integrated Corporation were charged with bribery of a public official, money laundering, wire fraud and conflict of interest. That investigation is ongoing. But Kundra was allowed back into office March 17, after just five days.

President Obama names Kundra nation's Chief Information Officer
"Vivek Kundra will bring a depth of experience in the technology arena and a commitment to lowering the cost of government operations to this position," President Obama said in a statement announcing the appointment on March 5.
This appointment also signals the President's attempt to lower costs of government operations through use of technology, something Kundra has proven during his tenure as the capital city's CTO since 2007.

More Indian Americans on Obama transition Policy Working Groups
The groups are focusing on the Economy, Education, Energy & Environment, Health Care, Immigration, National Security, and Technology, Innovation & Government Reform. Members of these groups are not expected to resign from their current offices as these are transition project positions.
Sonal Shah, who was in the Global Development team at Google.org, was put early on by Obama on his Advisory Board and is the only co-chair in the list of appointees.Following is a list of Indian Americans in these Policy Working Groups:
