Without meaningful lyrics, a singer doesn't enjoy singing, says Harshdeep Kaur, who has delivered hit numbers such as "Katiya karoon" and "Ik Onkar". She adds language is no bar for a song's success in Bollywood. "Lyrics are very crucial to a song. If they are not good, you don't feel the joy of singing. Music and lyrics both are very important and goes hand in hand," Harshdeep told IANS.

Mumbai, May 15 (IANS) Actress Nandana Sen and producer Madhu Mantena have ended their nine-year-long relationship. The former is shifting to New York and the couple felt that a long-distance relationship is impractical, but they admit that they will work together on a movie. This, coming in the wake of Mantena's marriage proposal in Paris last year, is a rude shock.

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has been voted as the ultimate style icon in an online survey conducted by Yahoo! India, while Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan were declared the most stylish celebrity couple. On the list of ultimate style icons cricketer M.S. Dhoni features at number two and superstar Shah Rukh Khan is third. Hrithik got 18 percent votes, while Dhoni bagged 16 and SRK 15 percent votes, said a Yahoo! India statement.

When Bollywood moved towards romances and comedies in a bid to lure audiences at the turn of the century, former action star Sanjay Dutt says he was left twiddling his thumbs and wondering how to salvage his career. Dutt, who made his debut in "Rocky" in 1981, said he was comfortable doing action films but had to adjust and switch genres when Bollywood stopped making those films in the last decade.

Political thrillers are not that common in Bollywood but then director and producer Dibakar Banerjee rarely chooses conventional subjects for his films. Banerjee, 42, explored sexual attitudes in India with "Love Sex aur Dhokha" in 2010. His latest film puts the spotlight on the dark underbelly of urban development in rapidly modernising India.

The trailers of "Department" are already in theatres and the promotional clippings are ready to be aired on the small screen. But the film's producers have decided to shoot an additional song, to be sung by actor Sanjay Dutt. Sanjay will also feature in the song, to be choreographed by his friend and protege, Ahmed Khan, according to a source from Viacom18 Motion Pictures, producers of "Department".

Talking about sex is still a cultural taboo in conservative India, but a Bollywood filmmaker is hoping to usher in change with a light-hearted take on infertility and sperm donation. "Vicky Donor", a romantic comedy about a sought-after sperm donor at a fertility clinic, is part of a wave of recent films tackling subjects rarely addressed in Indian cinema - gay relationships, biopics on sex symbols and now sperm donation.
