'Black,' 'Paheli,' Veer-Zara' qualify for golden globe awards nominations

Three Hindi films, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Black,' Amol Palekar's 'Paheli' and Yash Chopra's 'Veer-Zarra,' qualified for nominations on Dec. 7 in Los Angeles, at the Golden Globe Awards which precedes the Oscars, the Press Trust of India reported. The three films, featuring superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherji, are among a total of 60 foreign films selected for nomination to the 63rd edition of the awards to be held on Jan. 16. Shah Rukh Khan starred in 'Veer-Zaara' and 'Paheli.' Paheli was nominated as India's entry to the Oscars. The nominations were scheduled to take place on Dec. 13.
