35th World Economic Forum at Davos
At the 2006 Davos conference, India's official delegation included Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Commerce Minister Kamal Nath, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram and Tourism Minister Renuka Chowdhury. There were over 100 participants from India, more than double the 45 in 2005. Sixty of the sessions were about India or had Indian participants, making it indeed an 'India Everywhere' event. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, however, could not be present. She presented the U.S. view at the 35th World Economic Conference via satellite. Seen in the photo, a video grab of her address screened at Davos on Jan. 26. (Photo: AFP) More..
