It's really 'India Everywhere' at Davos - just as the campaign says
Davos : For once, India is really everywhere at Davos. With the 35th World Economic Forum (WEF) opening at the snow-covered Swiss mountain resort, one cannot help but notice India Everywhere - just as its campaign says. Right from the moment you step off the aircraft at Zurich airport, huge billboards proclaiming India greet you. Upon reaching Davos, the city located about 90 miles from Zurich that becomes the annual business hub of the high-powered from around the world, the Indian colors are just about everywhere.
Mukesh Ambani for global partnership to end poverty
Davos, (DPA) : Mukesh D. Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, India's premier business group, on Jan. 25 called on participants at the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting here to build a basis for eliminating poverty.
Oommen Chandy looking to borrow a suit at Davos
Thiruvananthapuram : Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, whose usual dress is a homespun cotton shirt and dhoti, is looking for a warm suit to wear in freezing Davos where he will project his state as an investment destination at the (WEF). Speaking before his departure for Davos, Chandy said his bag to Davos would have his trademark khadi shirt and dhoti (mundu). "I don't have any suit. May be someone would lend me one when I reach Switzerland. There are a lot of Keralites there and I know they also know that I don't wear pants or suits," Chandy told Indo-Asian News Service.

Forum honors Shabana Azmi
The World Economic Forum (WEF) has decided to honor Shabana Azmi, the renowned film actress and social activist with the Crystal Award for her contribution towards reaching out successfully to other cultures through her art. Other awardees include actor-director Michael Douglas and Brazilian Culture Minister Gilberto Gil.
'China will do hardware, India will do software'
Davos, (DPA) : India is well on the road to becoming an economic superpower and may emerge to equal China as the focus of the world's attention, a panel of analysts said at the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting here.
